Education

The project runs an extensive environmental education programme, which is currently focused within areas where Southern Ground-hornbills persist and, in the areas, where reintroductions are being attempted. The programme aims to educate rural residents and learners of all ages about the threats facing the species, the mitigations that can be used to tackle each threat and how important every individual group is to the national population. We use a wide variety of age-specific educational materials, activities and media, many of which have been translated into one of the many local languages and as best to communicate to the audiences within each environment.
