Protect Africa’s iconic ground hornbills! Support the Mabula Ground Hornbill Project to save this endangered species through conservation, research, and education.

Should you wish to make a difference to the future of ground-hornbills from South Africa, please consider making a donation to our work via an EFT or online payment.

The Mabula Ground Hornbill Project is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO ref 13/00/00/723), which means that bona fide donations made in cash or in-kind to the MGHP by South African taxpayers, whether companies or individuals are entitled to a deduction from taxable income.

The benefits of supporting the MGHP are therefore two-fold:

Corporate Responsibility in supporting one of South Africa’s leading avian conservation programmes;

SARS section 18 (a) tax exemption: Qualification for a Section 18A receipt from the MGHP, which will allow contributors to claim any applicable tax relief.

Should you still have unallocated funds left in your budget and would like to take advantage of this potential tax benefit, please consider making a financial donation before the end of your tax year.

If you require any further assistance or have any questions please do not hesitate to email project@ground-hornbill.org.za or admin@ground-hornbill.org.za

If you wish to make a difference to ground-hornbill conservation from the UK, please consider donating to the Alf Rewin Conservation Fund, our UK-based fund-raising arm.

The Alf Rewin Conservation Fund was named in honour of Alf Rewin who started working as a conservation intern at the Mabula Gorund Hornbill Project in 2018. Today this organisation, named in his honour, is dedicated to raising funds for registered charities that support conservation protection and the improvement of the natural environment through biodiversity conservation.

ARC has already raised R1 000 000 towards the ARC scholarship fund that supports young African conservationists. Meet our first recipient, Pluto (Thato).

Donations made in the UK are received by the Alf Rewin Conservation Fund which is a registered charity (1200084). Individuals can also register for Gift Aid. Contact Dee, Alf’s Mum for more information.

DONATE FROM THE UK

We appreciate donations from anywhere in the world! If you wish to make a donation from outside of South Africa, the USA or the UK, please use the links below.

Please note that donations made from outside of the above-mentioned countries are sadly not tax-deductible.

Our Wish List

In the process of up-scaling the focus of our work, we are going to be in the field much more and so there is a need for adding to our expedition and research equipment. We, as part of our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, are very happy with functional second-hand equipment as this reduces the need for new resources to be used for our needs.
